Dresser Wayne Selected As Microsoft Windows Embedded OEM Partner of the Year

LAS VEGAS, NEV. (May 9, 2006) - Dresser Wayne's innovative use of the Microsoft CE platform in its iXTM Technology Platform, has earned the company Microsoft's Embedded OEM Partner of the Year award for 2006.  The award was presented in a ceremony last night at the annual Windows Embedded Developers' Conference (DevCon) in Las Vegas.

The Embedded OEM Partner of the Year award recognizes the superior contribution of a Microsoft partner in bringing next-generation, customer centric, Windows-based solutions to market.  Dresser Wayne's state-of-the-art iX Technology Platform, which is built on Windows CE 5.0, is currently available in Dresser Wayne's Ovation iX fuel dispenser.  With the iX Technology Platform, the already-popular Ovation dispenser becomes the future of retail petroleum -- a fuel dispenser that actively helps convenience store owners and fuel retailers drive sales, lower costs, and improve accuracy and uptime.

"This award was made possible due to our close relationships with Microsoft, our development partner BSQUARE, and the Atlanta-based design firm, Tier One," said Neil Thomas, Dresser Wayne's global president.  "Dresser Wayne is committed to partnering with the best in an ongoing effort to provide new solutions that drive our customers' business. We will continue building capabilities onto our iX Technology Platform based on the scalability and security of Windows CE."

Dresser Wayne's iX Technology Platform currently features three revenue-generating and cost-saving tools:

  •  iXTM Media, which has an integrated 10.4 inch color display to allow retailers to show customized, full-motion video promotions. iX Media also features a built-in speaker and site-specific coupon creation capability.
  • iSenseTM remote management system, which can automatically diagnose, troubleshoot, and in some cases, actually fix equipment problems - often even before they occur.
  •   iDPOSTM   in-dispenser point-of-sale system guarantees uninterrupted fuel and merchandise sales by independently managing round-the-clock transactions and credit card sales - even if the in-store point-of-sale device is off-line.

"Microsoft is proud to announce Dresser Wayne as our Windows Embedded OEM Partner of the Year," said Jane Gilson, director, Mobile and Embedded Devices Division, Microsoft Corp. "Dresser Wayne's Ovation iX fuel dispenser embodies everything Windows CE strives to achieve: the highest levels of device innovation and a feature-rich, interactive experience for increased customer satisfaction. It is certainly one of the more unique applications of Windows CE, with characteristics that differentiate it from the competition and raise the bar for other devices in its category."

"BSQUARE is proud to have been involved with Dresser Wayne as they have brought this technology platform to market," said Brian Crowley, president and CEO, BSQUARE.  "This award is testimony to Dresser Wayne's innovative use of the Microsoft Windows CE platform in current and future technologies."
