Dresser has released a new series of technical notes on Mooney and Flexflo Regulators. These documents are designed to ensure the best possible performance of Mooney and Flexflo products by announcing product improvements and giving application guidance and troubleshooting support.

Dresser® Mooney Slam Shut™ Valve Line Expands to include 1” through 4” sizes.

Dresser’s Mooney® Slam Shut™ Valve line has now been expanded to include a 1” linear plug design and rotary design sizes to 4”. The 2”, 3” and 4” sizes can be integrated into a Flowgrid® Regulator or can stand alone.

The Mooney Slam Shut Valve is a unique pneumatically actuated device that provides accurate over and / or under downstream pressure protection. Its patent pending design guarantees a snap acting release of the latch only when designated set points are exceeded. This eliminates costly “accidental shutoffs” from vibration or conditions other than over/under pressures.

A positive shutoff is achieved instantly with zero pressure differential requirements and an easy reset can be completed with common hand tools. The Mooney Slam Shut is an ideal solution to provide reliable and safe downstream protection.

Booster Panel increases capacity of Surge Reliever.

The Dresser® Flexflo® Surge Reliever flow capacity is proportional to the percent rise above set pressure. In applications where the allowable rise above set pressure is small, the Flexflo Surge Reliever is only operating at a fraction of its full flow capacity. In this case, the number of surge relievers required for the application can become excessive. The new Capacity Boosting Control Panel can utilize the maximum Cv and minimize costs. The control panel is connected to the surge reliever and the pipeline. When excessive pressure is sensed by the control panel, the surge reliever jacket pressure is vented, allowing the surge reliever to fully open. When the surge has passed the system repressurizes, resetting the system at the original set pressure.

2” Flowgrid® AC Port Regulator offers added oil or gas flow capacity.

The 2” Flowgrid® AC Port regulator that meets and in most cases exceeds the flow capacity of other 2” regulator models. It’s an economical and easy to maintain pilot operated valve for both gas and liquid applications. The valve is designed to be used in conjunction with a self contained pilot control system as pictured. This valve combines a 2” body with a 3” port providing a Cg value of 1970. It is ideal for skid mounted, vault and enclosure installations. The Flowgrid Valve is bi-directional and has a full ANSI rating on both the inlet and outlet (CL150, 300, 600). The same Flowgrid top entry and minimal parts were considered in the ease of maintenance design.
